I agree Dave - multitasking is not about doing more than one thing at one, it is about prioritising tasks.

A better way to increase one's productivity is to stop multitasking and focus to only one thing at a time. Multitasking slows us down and increases our stress levels. It makes us less efficient which leads to poor performance and low productivity.

Almost every article that I have read so far about multitasking and (personal) productivity strongly discourages it. It just doesn't work.

Switching between tasks is more "resource" consuming that just finishing the first and then do the next. Even women can't really do it. It takes an awful long time to get focused on the other task you switch to (it can take up to 45 minutes).

My advice based on all the reading I did: DON'T MULTITASK! (or it must be something very trivial, like the kind of multitasking you do while driving your car).

With kind regards,
Sander Robijns
