Hi Esther - welcome to the strange world of GTD! If you are just starting to use GTD then certainly start using a paper system - it is a lot more flexible whilst you are deciding how you want o do things, and what works best for you. Once you are happy with you system, then it is up to you. The key is to make sure you ALWAYS have some method of capturing actions when they spring into your mind. Have fun!

Thanks for this info. Just discovered GTD last week (here in France). Am looking at what app will be the best for me. Still think paper would be nice, to assure not to get lost in the application iso doing what needs to be done. It will also assure that it doesn't increase my time on the computer. And with paper I'm independant of internet and technologie.
I think your hipster PDA version with the ring looks super. A small pouch to put it in would make it even nicer!

Hi Sander,

I'm not even sure it IS quicker to pull out my pad, find the right page, then scribble away. It is just less hassle than misspelling things on an iphone keyboard - on the iphone I can tell I have misspelt it, as you point out, at least on paper I won't be able to tell!

I will bet you for that $10, but I must admit that sometimes pen and paper are still the best capturing tools around. Especially when compared to taking a quick note on your electronic PDA, whether it be an iPhone or something else, which is still a lot slower than creating that "doodle" that you won't be able to read later ;-)
